Pauline started by telling us why they moved.
“After we finished being foster parents we decided the house was just too big for us. And with the fence around our old house we’d only see others when going for a walk.
Here in Sandy Bay we’ve got lovely neighbours and it’s a community more than anything. Everyone’s roughly the same age and so friendly. The feeling of security is important aswell – a totally different community and atmosphere.”
Pauline explained what else she’s enjoying about their new lifestyle by the sea:
“Our dogs are starting to settle in too as there’s plenty of owners out walking their dogs. We’re right near the sea wall, so we can take them up there for a walk.
“I’m swimming every day. It’s about a ten minute walk to the pool but it takes us nearly an hour as you stop to chat! We didn’t know anyone on the park but we’ve made new friends since moving in. They organise a lot of activities here like walking rounders on a Sunday and walking football.”
I love it so far and I don’t regret moving. It feels like you’re on holiday every day but you’re actually living it. Felt a little bit wrong, but it’s not!”
